Mini-Review: My Little Pony – Friendship Is Magic

The story of a unicorn pony named Twilight Sparkle, a student of Equestria’s ruler Princess Celestia. Princess Celestia gave Twilight Sparkle the task of going to Ponyville to make friends since the young pony was more interested in books then developing relationships. Twilight Sparkle takes along her assistant, Spike, who so happens to be a baby dragon. Once arriving in Ponyville, they meet the tomboyish Rainbow Dash, the fashionable Rarity, the hard working Applejack, timid Fluttershy and hyperactive Pinkie Pie. Together they solve problems occurring in the town and along the way learn the ins and outs of being good friends. Every episode ends with Twilight Sparkle relating an aspect of friendship she learn to Princess Celestia through her own experiences and what she observes from others’ experiences.

This show is so cute you’re going develop diabetes of the eyes. Each of the ponies have their own distinct personality and the show does a good job of crafting stories around appreciating others’ differences. The story lines are not too dumb down and doesn’t try to hit you over the head with the “message” of the day. The jokes are age appropriate but can be appreciated by adults.

Rating: Hells Yea! [If you liked Power Puff Girls, you may like this show] Even if you don’t watch the show, it’ll be a great show for the kiddies.
